Discover Freemasonry Event

    Discover Freemasonry Event

Saturday, the 10th of May saw the Metropolitan Grand Lodge hold their latest Discovery Freemasonry event at Freemasons Hall, Great Queen Street in London.

These events are put on to invite members of the public who are interested in becoming a Freemason to see what Freemasons get up to and what our charity fundraising goes towards.

At this event, the Metropolitan Grand Master Warren Duke was in attendance.

The aim for this event was to give a presentation to over 200 members of the public and over 30 of them went on to be interviewed under the “soft interviewing” process which the Metropolitan Grand Lodge had introduced this year to speed up the Membership application process to become a Freemason.

To assist with the smooth running of this event, the Metropolitan Grand Lodge invited members of the Widows Sons along to help out. The Widows Sons were invited to wear their regalia to show the members of the public the different associations within freemasonry.

There were 14 Widows Sons in attendance representing eight different chapters from across the United Kingdom, including a Quarrymen from Dorset.

The members of the Widows Sons are extremely grateful to the Metropolitan Grand Lodge for allowing them to wear their Regalia within Freemasons Hall yesterday while helping out with this event.

On behalf of the Chairman, the officers and the brethren of the Widows Sons, I would like to thank the Metropolitan Grand Lodge for the invite and we look forward to helping out again at a future date.
