Our last natter night before the clocks spring forward and start opening up evening daylight took place last night. The venue was a new one for us to visit, The Barley Mow (https://www.barleymowinn.co.uk/) in Wimborne. The pub was incredibly welcoming and laid out a large area of the restaurant for us to have our meeting and dinner. The food was excellent and the atmosphere amazing. The Quarrymen are getting all geared up for more riding and nights out together over the coming months.
Along with this we added two more members to our fold. One Cornerstone and one fully patched member.
Our fully patched member was Nuno and is the first to fall victim to his road name being chosen by his fellow Quarrymen. Nuno has been a member for a little time but we had been unable to complete his patching ceremony until this evening, making Nuno (or should we say “Sparkles”) our newest fully patched member of the Quarrymen. We are all looking forward to spending many an evening with him and his wife who came along for the evening

Straight after completing Nuno’s patching we were also very happy to have our newest Cornerstone join the fold, John Binks. Now we are taking a little more time with the road name selection here as, at the time of writing, we are all stuck on a certain Star Wars character and would prefer to be more original than that. John has attended many natter nights and rides with the Quarrymen and we are very happy to have him join us.
Many of our Cornerstone members are the wives and family of the Quarrymen and we love the fact that they come to so many of our events and meetings. Our aim to be as inclusive as possible and create a great environment that welcomes all is helping drive our membership numbers forward and make each meeting even more enjoyable with diverse conversation, shared laughs and a positive atmosphere. All while raising funds for charity via our raffle and fundraising. It is already clear that 2025 is going to be another enjoyable year.
I would also like to include a special mention of congratulations to our secretary. Tony came to his very first Widows Sons evening on the same day that the Quarrymen’s formation commenced. He left that meeting as the secretary! With all of the hard work he has put in over the last few years, he has been recognised by our national body. This meeting Tony was not just the Quarrymen’s secretary but also our National Secretary. Well done Tony. he is also the man to contact if you are interested in finding more about us. Which can be done via an email to [email protected]
