The Quarrymen host the Provincial Grand Master
At their ‘natter night’ on Wednesday, The Quarrymen (Widows Sons Dorset Chapter) hosted The Provincial Grand Master for Dorset Steve James and his wife Louise.
The ProvGM was presented with his own leather cut, with “Honorary Member P.G.M” embroidered on it.
The monthly natter nights are held by The Quarrymen in various locations and allow the members to meet, deal with business of the association and raise money for charity.
Recently the group have raised money for Lifelites charity, through events such as Easter egg rides, Santa rides, supporting the The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and their annual memorial ride (amongst other activities).
The members of the group are Freemasons with an interest in motorcycles. This branch has 24 full members and 7 associate members (or “Cornerstones”.
This month the group presented a cheque for £1000 to go towards the Masonic Charitable Foundation fundraising festival the province of Dorset is currently coming to the end of, where we are aiming to raise £1,250,000!
The cheque was presented to The Provincial Grand Master, who was delighted to have received it and thanked all of the members of the Quarrymen Widows Sons MBA – Dorset who were in attendance and those who were not.
The money raised at this event meant that the group were able to announce that they were going to fund 6 children for this years ASHLARS event, where Dorset Freemasons sponsor local children to experience a day of team building and outdoor activities to boost their confidence and give them a good day, many of who come from local charities and community groups.

Thank you to you all for your hard work and generosity from everyone at Dorset Freemasonry.
