Several members of the Quarrymen, and one potential candidate for joining as a Cornerstone, met up at Stinsford Hill, Dorchester at 10:00 on a bright Sunday morning. While there was a nice breeze the sun stayed bright throughout the ride. The group rode in a good formation to the Veterans Hub in Wyke Regis, Weymouth, Dorset and were met by Mr Andy Price who runs the Veterans Hub.
We arrived at 10:30 and we were warmly welcomed not only by Andy, but his Operations Manager Dannielle was also in attendance.
Those members that had taken part were then given a tour of the facilities, which include a gym that has disabled access to all the gym equipment, raised planting beds, quiet rooms, treatment rooms and spaces for quite reflection.

Pictured with those that rode is Mr Andy Price (third from the right). We were also joined on the ride by a potential new member as a Cornerstone, as he is not a Freemason. Pictured below is Mr Jacques Steventon, who has attended a couple of Rideout’s with the WSMBA.
The Veterans Hub Operations Manager, Dannielle is also pictured, second from the right in the picture below. All the Staff work tirelessly to ensure that those that need help, in whatever manner that may be, receive it from the various professional services that the Veterans Hub engage with.

The weather stayed very bright, which made the occasion all the more memorable as quite a few of the Veterans Hub clients came to see us and chat with us.
A talk on the WSMBA was given by myself, focusing on how the WSMBA came into being and our mutual passion for motorbikes, also covering the charity aspect of being a Freemason, and how we as Freemasons can help others. The clients all enjoyed the talk and took great interest in. It is safe to say that all those that attended the Veterans Hub that morning not only enjoyed the morning but they learned what the Veterans Hub is trying to achieve, and more importantly, how they are trying to achieve giving the help to those that need it. Between the Quarrymen of the WSMBA we managed to raise £55 which was presented by our Secretary to Andy Price. This was gratefully received and will go along way to giving vital help to those that need it the most.
The picture below is with those members of the Veterans Hub Staff who hosted us all so very well. They kept us in hot and cold drinks and some very tasty bacon butties!
