Bucks Motorcycle Lodge 9926

On Saturday the 21st of October the Quarrymen were invited to meet with the  Buckinghamshire Motorcycle Lodge 9926.

They are a travelling lodge, which means they tend to meet in a different location each time. This time around they were meeting in Dorset at the Broadstone Masonic Centre in Poole. Happy to be invited a couple of us were able to make the meeting which was a fantastic experience.

Speciality lodges are a really great bit of fun and having one themed around motorcycles is even better as far as I am concerned.

The lodge dress code was different too. With members wearing their biker waistcoats and members of the WSMBA invited to wear their biker regalia. Elements of the meeting were slightly different too, just as it is when you visit another lodge in your area. Many guest had travelled over 100 miles to attend the meeting with quite a few still managing to arrive on their bikes.

The meal was a full English breakfast with plenty to go around and the gavels were made to look like pistons to keep with the theme (see title image).

A great deal of fun was had and the conversation flowed really well. The usual charitable collection and fundraising performed and ple4nty of talk about bikes.

Whilst being a motorcycle centric lodge, it was clear that all the principles of masonry were still held in the highest regard. most importantly the comradery felt by all those in attendance.

I myself already have plans to pop in and see one of the other guests when I am in his area next year and plenty of others were making similar arrangements.
